Secondary English Tutor

Emily began her career in education in 2013 and is qualified as a secondary English teacher with a thorough knowledge of the GCSE curriculum.

During her time in schools, Emily worked as part of the leadership team, taking on roles including, Head of Literacy, Head of Intervention and Behaviour Manager. 

Emily has also been an examiner for GCSE exam boards, so has a thorough understanding of the success criteria and expectations of students. This knowledge has supported her in gaining a great success rate, with her students passing both language and literature with good results.

Emily is passionate about the importance of pupil’s wellbeing for learning and is keen to cater to each child’s needs in a teaching style that works for them. 

Alongside tutoring, Emily is currently finishing her M.A in education and is completing a PgDip in Waldorf and creative pedagogies - exploring the many forms of learning that seek to educate the child holistically.

Emily will be offering online support to secondary English students.
